“A New Beginning”
Entering this new month of January, we said “Goodbye” to 2024 and “Hello” to 2025! The old year has ended, and a new year has begun. The year is already moving along quickly as the calendar day reflects January 7 today (Tuesday). As I ponder this, I recognize that in Genesis (The Book of Beginnings), the seventh day represents a day of completion and rest. God created all He desired in six days and on the seventh day, He rested. Through the Holy Spirit, God can give us spiritual rest. As we encounter the new year, many need Jesus who need a “new beginning” in their lives. This may apply to you and others in this world. God can give us that “new beginning” and make all things new!
Pray that God gives new tongues to lost souls and that He empowers them for His glory. “And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues” (Mark 16:17).
Intercede that God gives salvation to those needing conversion and makes all things new. “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new” (II Corinthians 5:17).
Pray that God gives a new song and victory to those having hardships. “O sing unto the LORD a new song; for he hath done marvellous things: his right hand, and his holy arm, hath gotten him the victory” (Psalm 98:1).
Intercede that God gives a new heart and a new spirit to those who need transformation. “A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh” (Ezekiel 36:26).
Pray that God gives deliverance to those needing freedom from bad habits/addictions. “And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness” (Ephesians 4:24).
Pray that God gives a fresh and new anointing/power to those doing His work. “Behold, I will make thee a new sharp threshing instrument having teeth: thou shalt thresh the mountains, and beat them small, and shalt make the hills as chaff” (Isaiah 41:15).
Pray that God commands a “new thing” wherever needed in life. “Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert” (Isaiah 43:19). The Lord Almighty, who is the “Alpha and Omega,” and the “Beginning and Ending” indeed can grant to those who need it … a new beginning! (Revelation 1:8)
