“Fighting the Good Fight”
Fighting the good fight requires faith. To win spiritual battles we must believe we will win. When we maintain our faith in the battle, standing our ground with a mindset of peace, we will be victorious. When God created the world, He spoke everything into existence. This is our first example of faith demonstrated through the power of the spoken word. Fear is an enemy that will shatter the shield that protects us from the poison darts of Satan. When the King of Syria was attempting to destroy Israel, he was defeated by words spoken in prayer. In like manner, we can take authority over spiritual wickedness with words spoken in faith through scripturally based, warfare prayer.
The enemy is jealous of God and His creation. He continually attempts to imitate and falsify what God has already set in place from the foundation of the world. We see information warfare in our world like never before. Lies and deceptions are constantly being put out into the atmosphere through every type of media. These words will attempt to affect our emotions, invoking anger and shame, but God’s Word is more powerful than any lie. Therefore, our lives, our words, and our actions must be founded in God’s Word. To live in victory, our lives must be governed by principles, not emotions. The spoken word of God has the power to open the eyes of the blind. Not only that, but it can also blind the enemy and send confusion into the enemy’s camp.
When the armies of the enemy were closing in, Elisha never wavered in his faith. He assured his servant that there were more fighting for them than for the enemy. “Then Elisha prayed and said, ‘LORD, please, open his eyes that he may see.’ And the LORD opened the servant’s eyes and he saw; and behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire surrounding Elisha” (II Kings 6:17 AMP). Then Elisha prayed again, asking God to blind those that the enemy (The King of Assyria) had sent. Then Elisha led those who were blinded to Samaria, and prayed God would open their eyes. Elisha spoke against King Jehoram’s desire to kill the captives. Instead, he told the king to feed them.
After a great feast, these marauding bands did not come to Israel again. There are those who have been blinded by the gods of this world that need to be fed spiritual things, both God’s Word and His Gospel. Those who have been blinded by the enemy have been drawn into violence with provoking words. They are pawns used by the enemy to further an antichrist agenda. This generation needs to be fed truth. Prayer can change this generation and future generations to come.
Pray:
• That the eyes of those deceived be opened, and they would be drawn by God’s Spirit.
• For a faithless generation to come in contact with those who can speak truth and love into their lives.
• To bind the spirit of the antichrist and loose the Revelation of the Mighty God in Christ.
“Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will not pass away” (Luke 21:33 AMP).
