God has not given us a spirit of fear
” DESTROYING F.E.A.R ”
“For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind” (II TIMOTHY 1:7).
God has not given us a spirit of fear, but He has given us Power, Love, and a Sound Mind. Fear gives us the opposite. Instead of power, fear gives weakness; and instead of love, fear gives hate; and instead of a sound mind, fear gives us a double-minded and weak mind. This is why believers must destroy the spirit of fear so we do not become like others around us who are struggling with weakness, hate, and a double mind. In our current fear of … our cultural, racial, and political divide, etc., it is even more crucial for Apostolics to be full of the Spirit of God and to be full of Power, Love, and a Sound Mind.
Fear is made of four components that spell the word “FEAR,” and we must stand against these:
Fright – Luke 21:26: Men’s hearts failing them for fear … A sign of the last days is men’s hearts failing them for fear. We must stand against those who constantly promote fear, as they are doing that to lead us to fail and not achieve God’s will.
Evil- Matthew 6:13: And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory … Many translations translate this verse as deliver us from the evil one. Many times, we forget that evil is personified in the devil, our enemy, and he has forces of evil working against us. One tool he tries to bind us with is fear, and if we want God’s Kingdom, Power, and Glory to be in our families, ministries, and churches, we must rebuke the fear brought by the evil one.
Anger- Ephesians 4:26: Be ye angry, and sin not … Anger is an emotion everyone has, and the Bible never says don’t ever get angry, as that would be impossible. Instead, we are commanded to be in control of our anger, which helps to keep us from sinning when angry. Many forces use social media and mass communications to provoke us to anger, and sin should cause a righteous anger within, but not to overreact in anger and respond as non-believers respond, who have no hope in Christ.
Rancor- Hebrews 12:15: Looking diligently lest any man fail of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness (rancor) springing up trouble you, and thereby many be defiled; Rancor is defined as longstanding bitterness or resentment. Hebrews 12:15 teaches us that the grace of God is sufficient to remove any longstanding root of bitterness or rancor. When we allow any root or part of rancor to reside within us, the enemy will use fear to allow that root to grow and hinder our walk with God and the grace of God to flow. The removal of rancor will take us out of the grasp of fear and allow us to walk in true unity as brothers and sisters.
