Notable Miracles

In a world that is growing increasingly wicked, our faith in Jesus is vital to our spiritual survival.

Our connection to the True Vine will take us through the darkest times and produce the miraculous. Those who have never had a relationship with Him that has carried them through dark times can receive revelation and hope from hearing about notable miracles. These are things born out of prayer, which convey the Word of God to those who have lost hope, and can help them make a life-changing connection to the Lord Jesus Christ. Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God, which should be followed by signs and wonders. Life-changing encounters are often a result of calling out to God and coming to the realization that He has answered. Many have come to a point of hopelessness, needing a miracle, and Jesus answered.

In His mercy, He filled us with His Spirit and made it possible for us to be baptized in His Name, which is the greatest miracle of all. Is there any greater miracle than a changed heart, mind, and life? As our life of prayer and thanksgiving progresses, we begin to see the fruit that only a relationship with Jesus Christ can produce. Scripture admonishes us in the following manner, “O give thanks to the Lord, call on His name; Make His deeds known among the peoples” (Chronicles 16:8 AMP). Prayer initiated with thanksgiving can make all the difference. As can be seen, the testimonies of answered prayer. There are many opportunities to tell someone what God has done for us.

“Making His deeds known among the peoples” is so important because it builds faith, gives hope, and loosens the power of the Spirit into situations. As the day approaches, we will see more “notable miracles.” Although we should not only follow Jesus because of “the loaves and the fishes,” miracles build faith among the masses. It is written, “Then Jesus said to him, ‘Unless you [people] see [miraculous] signs and wonders, you [simply] will not believe'” (John 4:48 AMP). Jesus, knowing what is in men’s hearts, understood that many are like Thomas, who doubted. We hope that hearing of the miraculous, i.e., blind eyes seeing, deaf ears unstopped, will cause those in doubt to believe. The following miracles are the result of prayer over the years. In reality, there are too many to fit in this article, and there are certainly more instances of answered prayer over 23 years than my finite mind can recall:

• At the age of four, I was kicked in the head by a horse whose pen I climbed into to go after a dog barking at the horse’s heels. I was not expected to live or be brain-damaged. God answered those who prayed for me.
• My son, whom I consistently pray for, fell from a two-story roof. His lawyer, hired because of an OSHA violation, told me I should be thankful because he had a case, which happened after my son’s, in which the fall was of a lesser distance, but fatal.
• I was called to Oaklawn, Illinois, to pray for a woman whose leg had gangrene. The doctors were planning to amputate. She not only kept her leg, but also has use of it.
• A woman I cleaned for had fallen and developed pneumonia. She was not responding to antibiotics. I offered prayer, she agreed, and was instantly healed.
• Another client could not move her shoulder because of pain. She agreed to pray. The next time I saw her, she told me that after we prayed, she took a nap and woke up with no pain in her shoulder.

The enemy does not want the miraculous to be known because miracles will lead people to Jesus. The chief priests wanted to kill Lazarus for the same reason (see John 12:10-11). The enemy seeks to dominate the religious world, which is steeped in tradition, but Jesus seeks signs and wonders to accompany His Gospel.
